Meet Emelia Thygesen

Emelia is a therapist specializing in working with the creative community. She is trauma-informed, holistic, and eclectic in her practice. Emelia, a singer and poet herself, who creates a safe and non-judgmental environment for healing. Emelia uses music, movement, and her experience as an adoptee to guide clients to find their voice again.

Individual Therapy

Experience personalized therapy sessions designed to address your unique needs and challenges, promoting emotional growth and well-being. I work with clients who struggle with: codependency, anxiety, OCD, life transitions, career changes, and adoption triad concerns.

A listening program developed to help regulate your nervous system. In conjunction with therapy it can help alleviate emotional regulation, increase socialization, and sensory issues.

Is therapy confidential?

Yes, therapy sessions are confidential to provide a safe and trusting space for open communication and healing.

How long are therapy sessions?

The duration of therapy sessions may vary based on individual needs, typically lasting between 45 to 60 minutes.

What issues can therapy address?

Therapy can address a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship conflicts, and personal growth challenges.

What are the costs?

For out of pocket/cash payments sessions are 110 per 50 minute therapy session.

Support groups cost 40-75.

​SSP is NOT covered by insurance. Please go to my section on SSP for more information on costs.

​No shows and late cancellations are charged at the full session rate. This fee is not covered by insurance.

 I currently have sliding scale options available, and can be discussed about during a consultation call.

​I do not provide any pro bono or free services

Do you take insurance?

Yes I do! For NY, NC, OR I take: Aetna, BCBS, Cigna, United, and EAPs. 

I am also with Spring Health, CCA, and BHS.

I currently don't take insurance in VT or SC.

I do not take any form of Medicaid or Medicare.

Can I use Out Of Network Benefits?

Yes you can! Please go to this website to see what is covered under your plan

I will submit claims through Mentaya's website for you. 

Are Support groups covered by insurance?

No they are not. Support groups are what is considered process groups. Group therapy which are skills based and structure would be covered.
